Announcing The 2015-16 Best Uniform Contest

Last year, the world determined that the Belgian Gryffins had the best quidditch uniforms around. This year we’re back to see if anyone can unseat them.

World's Best Uniform Announced

Without further ado, The Quidditch Post is thrilled to announce the winners of its worldwide uniform contest. Teams, players, and spectators were given one week to submit the jersey/kit of their chosen team. After voting ended on Nov. 5, we tallied up and announced the winners of the popular vote, which was determined by counting the number of unique likes on each individual team’s Facebook album and photos. The popular vote determined the Belgian Gryffins to be first, followed by the Hofstra Flying Dutchmen, U of C Mudbloods, Toulouse Quidditch, and the Black Snitches.

Our judges—Andy Marmer, managing editor of the Quidditch Post; Kym Couch, USQ Northwest regional director; and Emily Crouch, USQ copy editor—then ranked each team based on originality, design, team representation, and affect. We averaged the judges’ scores for each individual team and ranked each team, 1-22. Next, we ranked each team by the popular vote, 1-22. Finally, we averaged the two scores. In the case of a tie, we brought in an impartial fourth judge to determine the winner. The Quidditch Post is thrilled to announce the results of the popular vote for the inaugural World's Best Uniform Contest. As a reminder the popular vote accounts for 50 percent of a team's score, the other half is decided by a panel of judges. The winner will be announced next week. Stay tuned!

Editor's Note:

Clarification of the Rules

1. Only one vote per person per team. In other words even if you like multiple photos or both the entire album and individual photos, only one like will count.
2. Liking the album or a photo within a particular album will count as a vote toward the particular team.
3. You can nominate your own team or you can nominate any other team in the world.
4. Submissions must be sent to quidditchpost@gmail.com by 11:59pm EDT on Oct. 31, 2014 to count toward the contest.
5. Voting will end on Nov. 4 at 11:59pm EST.
