Lone Star Clones Clone Stars

By Andy Marmer, Quidditch Post CEO

With a growing number of players in Texas looking to join the Southwest’s preeminent community team, Lone Star Quidditch Club has announced its decision to form a series of B-teams around the state of Texas for the 2015-16 season.

USQ policies make a transfer between an A and B team an especially painless process, as transferring between the two is allowed once annually.

“Our College Station affiliate provided us numerous key players for this season,” explained Lone Star Coach Mitch Cavender. “We wanted to formalize our relationship with them so that our transfers are not subject to the same level of scrutiny.”

In addition to the College Station B-team, Lone Star will form B-teams in Austin, Waco, San Marcos, San Antonio, Huntsville, Lubbock, Denton, and Nacogdoches.

“Lone Star is committed to being the best team we can be,” explained Lone Star chaser Drew Wasikowski. “I’m convinced that surrounding myself with all of the best players in the sport will be enough to allow me to finally lead a team to a World Cup championship.”

Lone Star has lost just once this year and is the reigning Southwest Regional Champion. The team will inevitably fail to live up to expectations at USQ World Cup 8.
