The Quidditch Post is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jen Janiak, who volunteered with the USQ editorial team from Nov. 2012-Sept. 2013. As a writer Jen was skillful and passionate, gifted with the ability to beautifully capture her subjects, be they teams or individuals, and bring their essences to print. Jen was never afraid to try new things, and she wrote about a variety of subjects, ranging from recaps of regional championships and tournament previews, to a look at quidditch documentaries and key luminaries in the sport.
Although I never met Jen in person, I was her editorial manager and can speak personally to the lively character she displayed through phone calls, emails, and instant messenger; her passion was readily apparent. Jen’s articles were always a joy to read, and her writing excellently crafted.
On behalf of myself and all of the Quidditch Post, we would like to express our most heartfelt condolences to Jen’s friends and family as they deal with this tragic loss. Rest in peace, Jen.
Below are some of the articles written by Jen during her time with USQ.
