Job Purpose

The Emerging Regions Senior Editor is a supervisory level position that oversees junior editors, writers, social media, and podcasters within emerging regions. The main goal of this position is to supervise the production of content within the geographic area. They are tasked with ensuring that content is of a high quality, informative, and accurate.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Takes ownership in developing and implementing a strategic plan for the Quidditch Post’s position in emerging regions
  • Hires, trains, and develops staff members for emerging regions
  • Assigns articles and podcasts within emerging regions
  • Revises articles in conjunction with junior editors, copy editors and writers
  • Reviews articles and podcasts in conjunction with regional editors for accuracy and quality, and works with content creator to ensure the final product is as strong as possible
  • Supervises content from inception to publication, ensuring that QP coverage is relevant, timely, and informative
  • Actively participates in establishing broad Quidditch Post strategy
  • Works with other directors to implement cross-departmental goals


  • An expert understanding of the English language
  • Knowledge of/willingness to learn AP Style
  • Ability to motivate and manage a team of volunteers

  • A passion for writing and the sport of quidditch
